Binge-watch season 3 and re-subscribe to Starz because “Power” is back! The series premiered Sunday evening and has already left fans hungry for next week’s episode. Though the show went on a nine-month hibernation, episode one was not a snooze. “Power’s” return to television was just as action-packed as last season. The finale ended with Ghost being arrested by federal prosecutor and ex-girlfriend, Angela Valdez and his son, Tariq, being held for ransom. The plot continues to thicken during the premiere as fans discover what’s next for the drug dealer turned club owner. Throughout the episode, we see Tasha, Ghost’s wife step up to the plate and attempt to get her husband out of jail by any means necessary.

“Power” has progressively climbed its way to the top of television and secured a spot as the number two premium network after HBO. Season 3’s debut made history, becoming the number one watched show on Starz, with 8 million viewers per episode. TheMediaBrew’s very own, April Woodard, had the pleasure of having executive producer and main character, 50 Cent and Omari Hardwick on her show, Coast Live WTKR. During the interview, the two revealed the secret to acquiring the viewership they have received. 50 says that fans tune in because they can identify with each character’s imperfections.

With a premiere like Sunday’s, “Power” is sure to continue to break records all season. We won’t spoil the episode for you, but it’s safe to say that episode one was definitely worth the wait.
