It's Not A Race

If you're in your twenties like me, you might be still trying to figure life out. What your purpose is, what you're good at, where you're going to be in a few years, and how you're going to get there. Without even noticing, sometimes we find ourselves comparing journeys. You might be at a university, your friend doesn't know what to do with their life, your other friend is in the military, and your last friend is already in the workforce. You all are each on different paths, feeling like your friend's route may be more successful than yours. Maybe you should have chose a different lifestyle?
But truthfully, if there was only one way to reach success, we would all be doing the same thing right now. Different things work for different people! School may not be for some people, to others, military benefits are not worth the b.s. that comes with serving, and it takes making mistakes to find these things out. One thing a lot of people tell me is that they feel behind in life or stagnant for various reasons. As long as you are taking the necessary steps to reach your goals in life, pat yourself on the back. It'd be one thing to lay in your bed all day doing nothing and complain that you're not where you want to be in life, but hopefully that's not the case with you. And there is no such thing as being behind in life. This isn't grade school anymore. There is no ideal time to start or finish college or deadline for marriage. You are responsible for your destiny. Be confident in your craft and let your ego go. Don't hold yourself back because you're afraid of what other people have to say. Mature people are too focused on their own life to micro manage yours. If anything, a true boss will commend you for handling your business point blank. So take chances in life, learn from your experiences, and do what you feel is best for you. Don't involve yourself in things that you have no passion for only because it's what everyone else is trying. Life is not a race. It's trial and error. Stay encouraged.
