I Want To, But.

As a Christian, life can be difficult. It's weird the way it works. You give your life to Christ and a weight is lifted off your shoulders, but at the same time, that's when the real trials and tribulations begin. That's a tough space to be in because we know the correct way to live life, yet we hesitate to do so because of the repercussions that come with it. It's almost like as soon as you are on a straight path, the devil pops in to see how he can break you down. And with life already being so unstable, inconvenience is the last thing we need.

A personal struggle that I'm dealing with right now is the reluctance I have to take my relationship with God to the next level because of the fear that devil might attack me in a way I'm not prepared for. Sudden death, lost opportunities, etc. Baptism has been on my mind heavily, but the fear of the unknown has been drowning out the thought. I gave my grandpa, a seasoned believer, a call to get some advice on how to overcome the uncertainty. He admitted that the devil will indeed be after me and there's nothing I can do to prevent that, but he reminded me of the most important thing: my fear should not over power my faith. I needed to hear that.

So I share this with my fellow Christians to say that we should not hinder a relationship with God. That's exactly what the devil wants us to do. If it's His will, our faith in the God we serve will bring us out of what ever fire we walk through. Life is not going to be a walk in the park, but it's not going to be pure hell either. Sometimes we forget these things especially when you're in the midst of battling with the devil, but stay prayed up, surround yourself with like-minded spirits, and keep your faith strong. Believe me, it won't be easy, but at least you won't be alone on your journey to a better life.
